What is
Good Food Box Elgin?
Good Food Box Elgin is a monthly program that helps people in Elgin County and St. Thomas get fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables at a low cost.
The program started in 2015 and is made possible thanks to the support of many local community organizations, including:
- Destination Church
- Explore Church
- The Family Central
- West Elgin Community Health Centre
- Harvest Hands
- Southwestern Public Health
Each month, you can buy a box of fresh produce for just $20. The box includes a mix of seasonal fruits and vegetables. We buy in bulk from local grocers and sometimes include locally grown produce too.
Boxes are available for pick-up at different locations across Elgin and St. Thomas. Every box also comes with a newsletter that includes a recipe to help you use what's inside.

Do I need to order every month?
Not at all! You can order whenever it works for you. There is no commitment – just join in the months you want a box.
Can I pick what goes in my box?
We can’t offer custom boxes because we buy produce in bulk to keep the price low. But each box includes a great mix of seasonal fruits and veggies!
What kind of fruits and vegetables will I get?
It changes every month! We include a variety of seasonal produce, so there’s always something fresh and different to enjoy.
Can I buy a box for someone else?
Yes, you can! Many people choose to sponsor a box for a friend, neighbor, or someone in need. If you’d like to do this, please reach out to us.
Where do I pick up my box?
We have several pick-up locations across Elgin County and St. Thomas. You’ll choose your location when you place your order.
When do I need to place my order?
Orders are usually due by the second Friday of the month. Check the Order page for this month’s deadline.
